Organization Description

Mission statementTown Hall Seattle is an established thought-partner and resource for the region’s most curious. New to Town Hall is a codification of its own teaching philosophy for classroom residencies. In this upcoming school year, we are thrilled to be crafting a teaching plan that strives to promote the Washington State Art Learning Standards of responding and connecting through musical collaboration with our touring Global Rhythms artists. Global Rhythms features 5 innovative global artists in partnership with KEXP and Seattle Sacred Music and Art. We are excited to pair classrooms with visiting artists, sharing cultural traditions, musical instruments, and their practices. It is our hope that students walk away from their time with our Global Rhythm artists and Jessica Baloun (Lead Educator and Community Engagement and Outreach Manager) feeling inspired by music, be open to new experiences, and have hope for their own musical futures.
