Organization Description
| Mission statement | With my work as a teaching artist, I aim to work with educators and organizations that focus on marginalized communities and historically excluded people to offer free/low cost/sliding scale programs, to ensure that my classes are accessible. I enjoy using theater/improv/imaginative play as a method of healing and a socio-emotional regulation tool. My approach is youth-led, healing-centered, and spreads the rhetoric that everyone is an artist and existence is art. I value every participant’s individualized learning experience, while providing ample opportunity for voice and choice and creative freedom. My approach is also culturally relevant to the diverse populations I work with by integrating historical and relevant issues today that surround the art form itself, and our own communities. |
