Organization Description
| Mission statement | I am an artist, graphic designer, and teacher. As a child I spent her time picking weeds and flowers, and dabbling in artistic endeavors. Decades later I am still doing the same thing. I create with watercolor and ink. I love to explore the natural world and primarily create work to celebrate the natural world and our connection to it. In my teaching I like to do the same thing. I want my students to learn art concepts/techniques, and at the same time understand how their art stands for more than a picture. Their art can be a form of self expression, inspire, or teach others. I like to employ two different styles of teaching in my classes. The first part of class is a combination of demonstrations and lectures. I’ll show the whole group of students what they need to know. Later in class I like to promote self learning and individual help. Students go back to their work stations to work on their project. I like to observe students and give one on one instruction to those that need it. |
