Organization Description
| Mission statement | Lynda Belt, an actor and artist has served as a Drama and Arts Specialist and Arts Coordinator for the Puyallup School District. She is also a master teacher and professional development coordinator, arts integration advocate, author and national presenter. She has developed curriculum, and presented workshops on a variety of topics in drama, art, multicultural studies and art, integration of the arts, thinking skills through the arts and in planning arts integration focuses in elementary schools. Lynda has a Bachelor of Arts in Art and Drama from Western Washington University, a Master’s Degree in Theatre from Western Washington University and administrative credentials from City University. She has studied with the Kennedy Center’s Changing Education Through the Arts and the Smithsonian’s Early Childhood Center. Lynda Belt is the author of several drama textbooks Acting Through Improv; The Acting Primer, and is past Theatre Teacher of the Year from The American Alliance of Theatre Education and was inducted into the Washington State Educational Theatre Associations Hall of Fame this year. For her work with Theatre-In-Education strategies and creating a drama outreach program at Puyallup High School, she won a Golden Apple Award from the KCTS TV and the state of Washington. |
