Organization Description
| Mission statement | Extraordinary Futures uses fun, unique and engaging arts based programs to empower urban youth to lead healthier lifestyles and realize their full potential as leaders. Founded by the Seattle based B-boy/B-girl (Breakdance) group “Massive Monkees” to advance the capacity of their community based work being done in the greater Seattle area. The Massive Monkees have over 15 years of experience as professional dancers including winning several world titles in break-dancing, appearing as a finalist on the hit MTV show “America’s Best Dance Crew” and performing globally with popular artists such as Jay-Z, Beyonce and Alicia Keys. In addition to touring and competing, the Massive Monkees have been recognized by the Mayor of Seattle for outstanding community service in leading several dance-based after school programs, receiving the Mayor’s Arts Award along with proclamation of their official day “Massive Monkees Day” of Seattle celebrated annually on April 26th. |
